Winemaker Notes

The 2022 vintage started off as an exceptionally warm and an ideal vintage to grow many different grape varieties in Washington expressing ripeness and purity of fruit. As the late spring and summer months arrived, we were working with a milder climate at night and a longer growing season. 2022 really gave us winemakers a chance to work closely with our growers to reduce yields even further as we navigated some cooler temperatures. September surprised us with much warmer temps during the day and cooler breezes at night as Sauvignon Blanc came to ripeness just in time. This high elevation fruit on Horse Heaven was absolutely immaculate and we couldn’t be happier with how this wine turned out. We hope you will enjoy!

Our impression of this Wine

The 2022 Piolet Sauvignon Blanc is pure sunshine in a glass, any time of year. On the approach, notes of tropical fruit such as papaya, fresh cut pineapple and passion fruit present itself to spark intrigue. On that palate, this Sauvignon Blanc drifts over your taste buds with a dancing purity of fruit while maintaining balance of weight and acidity. Subtle nuances of green bell pepper and finishes with just a distant kiss of French vanilla.
